History
If you love art and history you've come to the right place. The building itself was built in 1868 during the height of Rondout's industrial maritime past and in it's history it was a former plumbing supply, drug store, a boarding house and most recently a contemporary art gallery.
The history of Rondout which is now part of Kingston dates back to 1652 when it was originally named Esopus; the name of an Indian tribe and was one of the primary communities in New Netherlands.
Today, the City of Kingston is a vibrant arts center, home to many artists and galleries. If you visit us on the first Saturday of the month you will experience Kingston's First Saturday Artwalk when dozens of art spaces host receptions throughout the City of Kingston. Sponsored by MAD (Kingston's Midtown Arts District)
